Day Care Barrie

Welcome to Peekaboo Day Care Barrie, our Mapleview Drive location!

Martin and I are very excited to introduce Peekaboo to the City of Barrie.  We are the proud to owners this beautiful 9,700 sq.ft. facility which has been professionally designed for 142 children, infants to SK, and is conveniently located on the corner of Mapleview Dr. and Veterans Dr. in the south end of Barrie.

Our centre features 2 large outdoor playgrounds with rubberized safety surface and age appropriate climbers for both infants/toddlers and preschool/kindergarten children, as well as an area for riding bikes and other gross motor activities. 

We also have large indoor gym room that is perfect for the children to use on days of inclement weather.  We have a custom-built kitchen and on-site cook who prepares all the meals and snacks fresh daily. 

Peekaboo is Canada’s first child care centre to have Video Over the Internet technology.  We are pleased to be able to offer our families this safe, secure and reliable service which allows you to share in your child’s day, even when you can’t be there, through live streaming video over the Internet. 

Our supervisor, Eileen Plowman was born in “bonnie” Scotland where she obtained her NNEB certificate (Nursery Nurse of the Education Board). After working in Glasgow’s Sick Children’s Hospital for 8 years, Eileen emigrated to Canada in 1986 and became a nanny. During that time she obtained her ECE equivalency with the AECEO. Eileen then began her daycare career in 1991 with Tiny Tim Developmental School in Brampton. While working in the infant room, she was promoted to Assistant Supervisor and 1 year later, Supervisor. Eileen is a proud mother of 2, Michelle (16yrs) and Matthew (14yrs). You’ll see her many a winters evening at the arenas watching both children play hockey. In August 2009, when our Barrie location opened, Eileen joined our team as an Infant teacher. In April, 2010 she was promoted to Assistant Supervisor and just recently to the Supervisor role. “Working with children is my passion, it’s where I belong, I’ve always known that”.
